Humenergi supports energy solutions that help refugees move from dependence toward opportunity. By financing enterprises that serve refugee settlements and underserved surrounding areas, we help improve access to solar home systems, productive-use equipment, clean cooking, charging, refrigeration, irrigation and other energy-enabled services.
Host communities carry both the responsibility and opportunity of supporting displaced populations. By financing clean energy enterprises that operate in refugee settlements and underserved surrounding areas, Humenergi strengthens local markets and improves services for surrounding communities, powering small businesses, schools, health facilities, agro-processing, water systems and cold chains.
Many refugee settlements and underserved surrounding areas depend on expensive, polluting or unsustainable energy sources. By supporting clean energy enterprises, Humenergi contributes to lower emissions, reduced reliance on charcoal and firewood, and wider adoption of climate-smart technologies.
Humenergi’s work in Uganda is made possible through partnerships that bring capital, technical expertise and market access to clean energy enterprises.
